We at Aniplex Inc., plan and produce high-quality animated TV programs, OVAs and animated theatrical features. However, our expertise lies not only in producing a wide array of fine quality features in major, core, kids and theatre genres but also in promoting them through TV and broadband broadcasting, packaging sales, merchandising and overseas operations based on a comprehensive business plan. In addition to creating animated versions of popular mangas, we have actively put our efforts into developing original features and discovering talented new writers.
We will produce TV animation series based on popular mangas such as “Rurouni Kenshin”, “Fullmetal Alchemist” and “Yakitate!! Japan”, aiming for high viewing rates and airing periods of a year or more. Moreover, we will strive to broaden our business on a larger scale through such efforts as promoting theme songs sang by Sony Music label artists to make hits in the music scene and providing a wide variety of merchandising products.
We will continue to produce TV animation series represented by “R.O.D”(targeting viewers in late teens) and “Gallery Fake”(targeting older viewers) and OVAs such as “Le Portrait de Petit Cossette”(featuring the unique world of “Gothic lolita”) and “SUBMARINE 707R”, the animated version of a popular manga from the 1960’s. We will focus mainly on providing video packaging products which will satisfy even those with the most refined tastes.
As regards to animated TV series for children, we will add to our lineup of “Potato Dog”, “Wonder Bevil-kun”, “Sunny Pig”, “Kyoro-chan” and other popular programs by producing new features with an eye towards overseas development and will aim to build a new business model working in conjunction with character merchandising.
In 2000, we produced the award winning “BLOOD THE LAST VAMPIRE” and in 2004, “NARUTO” the movie. We plan to produce and release even higher quality features in 2005 including the sequel to the highly successful “NARUTO” and “Fullmetal Alchemist” the movie.
Not limiting ourselves to creating visual products, we are involved on a large scale in the music business producers of original soundtrack albums, character image albums featuring voice actors/actresses, CDs of popular radio programs and soundtracks for animations of other production companies. Under a license agreement with a leading video game production company in Japan, we have planned and produced a wide array of game related CDs of which many have become big hits. In 2004, we launched the “Sugi Label”, which is engaged in releasing the works of Koichi Sugiyama, the composer well known for the music of the mega-hit “Dragon Quest”. With “anime” as our keyword, we plan and develop a wide variety of music, one example being the CD we released featuring Marina Inoue as a music artist upon her debut as a voice actress. For the future, we are planning to meet the diverse needs of consumers by utilizing our know-how and sensibility in such endeavors as launching ring-tone delivery services for mobile phones and producing/marketing deluxe collectors’ edition features.
